28-May-2009
Written by: Mandy Rodgers
Disney Studios has unleashed a mega film promotion for its Christmas feature.
On Memorial Day weekend, Disney began a unique promotion tour for its upcoming release "Disney's A Christmas Carol." The tour began in Los Angeles and gives viewers an interactive experience complete with a 3D sneak peek of the film.
Set to travel in 40 cities, for 16,000 miles and 36 states, the entire experience is free and also includes artifacts from the Charles Dickens Museum of London and props from the movie, according to CBS reports. Comingsoon.net reports that there is also an opportunity for visitors to have their pictures morphed into one of the characters in the film.
The tour lasts up until the film's November release to stir promotion and excitement.
"Disney's A Christmas Carol" uses the same motion-capture method like "The Polar Express" and "Beowulf." Jim Carrey stars as Ebenezer Scrooge and all three of the different ghosts, and Robert Zemeckis directs the retelling of the classic Charles Dickens tale.
Robin Wright Penn, Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Cary Elwes and Bob Hoskins round out the cast.
