Hugh Jackman, Daniel Craig to Star in Broadway Play?

The Hollywood rumor mill thinks so.

According to the Associated Press, Wolverine star Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig are expected to perform on Broadway next fall; that is, if Hollywood rumors are to be believed.

Though details have not been independently confirmed, the New York Post reported on Wednesday that Jackman and Craig were set to star in A Steady Rain. The play is about two cops and best friends whose lives take divergent paths after an accident.

According to the Post, the play would be produced by Barbara Broccoli, daughter of Albert "Cubby" Broccoli who, along with "007" author, Ian Fleming, helped start up the James Bond movie franchise.

Underscoring the rumors is A Steady Rain creator Keith Huff's agent's taciturnity. Despite numerous calls, neither the New York Post nor the Associated Press was able to get in contact with him to confirm whether Jackman and Craig would star on stage.

In a YouTube video posted in January, Huff talked about casting A Steady Rain with big-name actors and publicly speculated about casting Craig.

"I think it would be cool to see Daniel Craig do it. My wife would be happy," he told writer Mark Bazer on "The Interview Show."

If Craig takes the role, it would be the major New York debut for the "James Bond" actor. In comparison, it would be the third New York appearance for Jackman, who starred in the musical, The Boy from Oz, in 2004.
