MTV Movie Awards Put "Twilight" Against "Slumdog"
This Sunday's awards show will provide for a two-movie competition.
Sunday will bring the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, and while New Moon, the second movie in the "Twilight" series, will premiere its first preview, that's not the only thing fans of the vampire saga are waiting to see.
Twilight and Slumdog Millionaire are the two front-runners for the best movie award this year.
The Dark Night, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, and Iron Man are also nominated in the category.
Kristen Stewart, better known to the world as Bella Swan, is nominated for her roll in Twilight. Slumdog star Freida Pinto is nominated for breakthrough female performance.
Two of the Twilight guys are nominated in the best male performance category: the dreamy Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. A Slumdog cast member, Dev Patel, is also nominated in the category, so best movie will not be the only competition for the two films. Best Kiss is another category in which the two movies will battle.
Twilight should be a shoo-in for the best kiss award, since the Bella and Edward kiss is all the teenage girls and even moms alike could talk about for weeks after the movie came out.
We will just have to wait and see what Sunday's show brings and anxiously await the New Moon sneak peek preview.
