Courtney Love Battles With American Express Over Credit Card Debt
Courtney Love, who has been in the headlines many times before, is now facing a new issuecredit card debt.
According to Entertainment Weekly, American Express is suing Love for the amount of $352,059.67 for unpaid bills on three credit cards, as well as suing her for damages and lawyers fees. The credit card company has also suspended her AmEx Gold Card, due to the fact that she hasn't paid her balances.
According to the lawsuit, Love is simply "failing and refusing to make payments" to American Express. Love's lawyer made this statement, "AmEx knows the claim has no merit. We have told them this for a long time. AmEx's law policies allowed fraudulent transactions to be charged to my client's card."
Love was also sued back in February for libel by a fashion designer. According to Reuters.com, the designer was bothered by comments that Love made about her on Twitter.
