Candy Spelling Blames Daughter for Aaron Spelling's Death
The feud that has transpired between Candy Spelling and her daughter, Tori Spelling, reached a new low, Thursday.
Candy Spelling blamed her daughter for Aaron Spelling's death, Thursday, on a Massachusetts radio show. She was promoting her new book, Stories from Candyland, to the Kellogg Crew on 94.7 WMAS-FM, when she made the comment, E! News reported.
She said that Tori suddenly decided not to speak to her family, something that has been going on for about four years.
"And it was said, that's what killed my husband actually," Spelling said. "He just didn't want to live after that." She went on to accuse the Beverly Hills, 90210 star of using her father and that "she wanted no part of him once he couldn't do anything for her."
The media-mogul died June 23, 2006.
Candy released a statement after her comments made headlines, The Insider reports.
"I didn't intend to create headlines. I was asked a question about my daughter not speaking with my family, and I answered truthfully," she said about her remarks.
"My husband was very ill, and he had stopped eating and taking liquids. He called Tori on a daily basis, and never stopped asking if Tori had returned his call. We had to say no every day."
There has been no comment from Tori or her spokesperson.
