Chalke takes on new series.
According to the Seattle Post Intelligencer, Sarah Chalke (of “Scrubs” fame) has found a new series that adheres very well to the actress’s abilities. “Maneater,” a two-part miniseries on the Lifetime network, features Chalke as Clarissa Alpert, a spoiled socialite and daddy’s girl who revels in a life of self-indulgence. The series’ plot will focus on whether or not Alpert can function in the real world and understand the importance of responsibility.
Chalke describes Clarissa as a gold-digger who cares only about her appearance and reputation, but was anticipating taking on the role after reading the novels that inspired the series and learning that there was an emphasis on Clarissa changing her attitude.
IFMagazine.com commented that Chalke saw the role as a challenge because Clarissa is a woman with everything and then ultimately nothing. “I really felt like there were a lot of parts of Clarissa that I hadn’t gotten to do before,” she says in reference to her previous roles as an actress.
