The concert promoter will sell tickets free of service fees for lawn seats on Wednesdays.
The world’s largest concert promoter, LiveNation, pleased ticket buyers on Monday with a financially beneficial announcement. Tickets purchased from the corporation this Wednesday are completely free of service chargers.
The 24 hour offer is scheduled to begin after midnight on Tuesday at precisely 12:01 a.m. It is the first of many “free-service” Wednesdays planned throughout the summer, reported USA Today.
A total of 5 million tickets will be sold for lawn seating only. Sales this Wednesday will apply to two venues, the First Midwest Amphitheatre in Tinley Park and the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wis., according to Chicago Tribune.
Artists whose concert dates fall on a discounted Wednesday include Kid Rock, No Doubt, the Warped Tour, Aerosmith, Coldplay, Nickelback, Dave Matthews, New Kids on the Block, the Killers, the Allman Brothers Band and blink-182.
The promotion is offered as a way of supporting the LiveNation and Ticketmaster merge into one large company. The price of a concert ticket is raised 30 percent or higher by service fees, so the idea is meant to decrease rates and increase approval.
