Paul McCartney Plays Citi Field

McCartney continues his tradition of rocking out with the Mets.

Paul McCartney will continue his long history of rocking out with the Mets. The former Beatle will play the first ever concert at Citi Field, the Mets' brand new stadium, on July 17 and 18.

McCartney, 66, played the first major music event at the Mets old stadium as well back in 1965 with his old band mates John, Ringo and George. He also made a special guest appearance with Billy Joel for the last ever concert at Shea.

"To be the first to play this stadium is incredible," McCartney said in a statement, according to the New York Daily News. "I am really looking forward to a buzzing show."

Newsday reports that the rock legend will perform songs from every stage of his career, including Beatles classics, solo work and even tunes from his most recent album released under the band name The Firemen. Tickets will go on sale June 15 at 10 a.m.
