Stars Boycott Restaurant
8-Jun-2009
Written by: Sarah Folmar
Many celebrities refuse to dine at a London restaurant due to a fishy menu item
Celebrities are always showing what they believe in by staging protests, giving donations to charities or sometimes going nude for animal rights. Stars in London are continuing the trend by boycotting a popular eatery for a cause.
According to E! News, there are 31 celebrities who have signed a petition against the Nobo London restaurant. They are hoping the owners will take an endangered fish off of the menu.
Since the fish is so rare in the sea, the stars are saying that there is no way they can eat at a place that would serve the fish.
Among the signers of the petition are stars such as Sting, Charlize Theron, Alicia Silverstone, Woody Harrelson and many others. They worded the petition in a way that would show the owners that they are true to their word of not returning to the establishment until they stop killing an endangered fish.
Nobo has not yet commented on the issue, but judging by the boycott, the fish could be off the menu before their sushi begins to spoil.
