New Moon Trailer Sets Online Record
The trailer for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" has set a new online record for views, totaling 10.6 million in its first week, a Summit Entertainment Press Release reports.
The trailer's domestic launch partners MySpace and MTV posted the trailer online after 5.3 million viewers watched it debut at the MTV Movie Awards last week.
The trailer also set a record for MySpace, as the site reported 4.2 million views within the first 24 hours and 7.8 after the first week. The trailer also received 2.8 million views on MTV.com.
"New Moon" brings back many of "Twilight's" major actors, including Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.
The film is directed by Chris Weitz and will be released November 20.
The first "Twilight" film and grossed $69.6 million domestically in its opening weekend. The third chapter in the Twilight Saga, "Eclipse" will be released in June 2010 and directed by David Slade.
