Zac Efron to Play Lead in Saturday Night Fever Remake?
American Idol judge, Simon Cowell, has the knack at finding talent, and he did it again. Cowell is reportedly talking to producers about bringing back the 70s and starring "High School Musical" star Zac Efron as the lead in the remake of "Saturday Night Fever," the film that catapulted John Travolta to fame.
A source told MTV that Simon "has been drawing up a list of people he wants to get involved."
As for the soundtrack, Cowell has plans to bring in producer Timbaland to redo the soundtrack originally recorded by the Bee Gees.
Efron has been seen in movies such as "High School Musical", "Hairspray", and "Seventeen Again". The actor was suppose to take the lead in the remake of "Footloose" but turned it down giving Chace Crawford a chance to take the lead.
Is Efron the right choice to play John Travolta's role, or is John Travolta's role too good for high school heartthrob Efron? We'll see.
