Rihanna to testify at Chris Brown's Trial
Since the story leaked of Rihanna's alleged abuse by then boyfriend, Chris Brown, she has tried to stay out of the spotlight and away from the courtroom.
However, she was recently subpoenaed to testify and must appear at Brown's hearing. Rihanna's attorney told People magazine "If the preliminary hearing indeed goes forward, she is now legally required to be there, she will be there, and answer all questions truthfully."
Rihanna was allegedly beaten by Brown in February and photos later appeared on TMZ. Brown has been charged with two felony assaults. He has pleaded not guilty on both counts.
"Rihanna's testimony can make or break the case," said L.A. criminal defense attorney, Jeffery Rubenstein. "Her willingness to testify and be truthful about what happened is a step closer to convicting Brown."
The hearing is set to begin on June 22.
