16-Jun-2009
Written by: Robin Lee

$400,000 worth of diamonds went missing from London photoshoot.

There was speculation that Lindsay Lohan stole $400,000 worth of Dior diamonds from and Elle magazine photoshoot.

A set of diamond earring and a necklace, which was last seen on Lohan, were reported missing on June 8. The jewelry had been on loan for a photoshoot in London on June 6.

A police spokeswoman told PEOPLE magazine, “Westminster Police are investigating an allegation of theft of jewelry from studios in Brewery Road in Islington. The theft was reported to a central London police station on the eighth of June after earrings and a necklace, believed to be diamond and estimated to be worth $400,000, were found to be missing approximately two days earlier.”

Elle U.K. released a statement clearing Lohan from any wrong-doing. “Elle has no reason to believe that Lindsay Lohan was in any way responsible and has no further comment to make.”

“Lindsay hopes they find the jewels. She is happy to cooperate,” Lohan’s rep tells PEOPLE.
