Marissa Jaret Winokur Gained Weight While Not Pregnant
Actress Marissa Jaret Winokur, the host of a new weight loss show "Dance Your Ass Off," gained a few pounds waiting for her new son to arrive, despite the fact that she wasn't pregnant.
According to People, Winokur, 36, and husband Judah Miller had their 11-month-old son Zev through a surrogate. The actress said she gained 25 pounds throughout her pregnancy.
"It was total stress," the actress told People magazine. "You don't actually have to carry the baby to gain weight."
Winokur, who won a Tony in 2003 for the musical "Hairspray," got an intense workout while being on the show, "Dancing with the Stars." She had to exercise all the time in order to compete with the other stars. However, after the birth of her son, working out was not one of her top priorities.
"When I wasn't working, if I had an hour and my husband wasn't home from work yet, I'd be like, 'Oh, I'm gonna run on the treadmill.' But sometimes you have an hour and the last thing you wanna do is get on a treadmill," said Winokur.
According to People magazine, the actress said her new show is a combination between "The Biggest Loser" and "Dancing with the Stars." "Dance Your Ass Off" premieres on Oxygen June 29.
