Grey’s Anatomy sources confirm TR Knight will be leaving the show.
ABC has confirmed that actor T. R. Knight, a star on the popular medical drama, “Grey’s Anatomy,” will be leaving the show. According to People Magazine, Knight felt he was being underused on the show, and additionally is uncomfortable with the celebrity status it has afforded him.
A major plot event in the show involved a bus accident involving an unknown victim, revealed to be Knight’s character, George O’Malley. It is unknown what steps Knight will take next, though the New York Daily News reports he may be considering going to Broadway, as he was recently involved in a reading for the play, “Lend Me a Tenor,” starring high profile actors such as Tony Shalhoub and Alfred Molina.
“Grey’s Anatomy,” which is entering its sixth season, is set to air on September 24 on ABC.
