Chris Smith's wife dies in car accident

PGA Tour player Chris Smith lost his wife when she was killed in a car accident on Sunday.

According to The Associated Press, Beth Smith was in a sport utility vehicle when it collided with a Greyhound bus in Indiana. The crash was reported at Interstate 69 near Angola, Ind.

The Smith family members were coming back from a Father's Day visit in Toledo, Ohio, when the crash occurred.

The bus was carrying a Canadian semipro football team, and there were minor injuries reported.

Headline News Network reports the vehicle carrying Beth was driven by her 16-year-old daughter, Abigail. Her son, Cameron, was also in the vehicle, and both children are said to be in critical condition. They are currently at a hospital in Fort Wayne.

There is no word yet from Chris, but the PGA community is already mourning the loss of his wife.
