Nick Cannon And Mariah Are Planning A Family

Nick Cannon and wife Mariah Carey plan to have children in the near future. Although the couple still has a few months before starting a family, Cannon has a perception on what kind of father he will be.

The actor told People: "I want to be a father that's all about love. That's the main thing to get right and at the end of the day it's just about smothering my children with love. The same way I do to my wife!"

Even though Cannon has to play the serious role as a dad, he still wants to be the fun and goofy guy he plays in his films.

"I will probably be the fun dad because I'm silly," he said. "I'm always trying to have a good time and always doing funny and stupid stuff."

Cannon, 28, and Carey, 40, who got married in April 2008, want to establish the prefect home before having any children.

Canon told People: "We are working on that and once this year calms down, then we'll probably start taking about it more seriously. That's a priority, and it's not just a quick decision."

Currently, the actor is the new host of the NBC show "America's Got Talent," which premieres on June 23.
