Cameron Diaz Receives Star on Walk of Fame

Cameron Diaz received a star yesterday on Hollywood Blvd's Walk of Fame.

Cameron Diaz, star of the popular "Charlie's Angels" films and most recently "My Sister's Keeper," received a star on the renowned Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard.

People magazine reports that Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Diaz's "Charlie's Angels" co-star Lucy Liu were also in attendance, among hundreds of spectators outside the Egyptian Theater.

Diaz dedicated the honor and attributed her success to her parents, in particular her father who died of pneumonia in April, BBC News reports.

Referring to her parents, she said: "It is what powers the light that burns inside of me, bright enough for me to be honored today with this star on the Walk of Fame."

Diaz began her career at age 16 as a model, and appeared in her first major film role in "The Mask," starring Jim Carrey. Her latest film, "My Sister's Keeper," opens Friday.
