Movie About the Creation of Facebook May Be Directed by Fincher

That's right. A movie about Facebook.

David Fincher, director of such hit movies as "Fight Club," "Seven," and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," is considering taking on the Facebook movie. According to TheHDRoom, Fincher is currently negotiating with Columbia Pictures. If all goes well, production will start later this year and is expected to be finished late 2010.

Reuters reports that the script is being written by Aaron Sorkin, who was also the writer behind "The West Wing." So far, all that's known about the movie's plot is that it focuses on its creation by Mark Zuckerberg in his Harvard dorm room during his sophomore year, and then its rise to the pinnacle of social networking sites. Facebook has even surpassed Myspace in popularity, ScreenCrave.com reports.

An odd premise for a movie perhaps, but with award-winning writer Sorkin and Oscar-nominated Fincher behind it, this could easily turn into something worth watching, and might even help push Facebook from popular to historic.
