Katherine Heigl Takes on Dual Roles in New Romantic Drama
Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl will star in a new romantic drama for Warner Bros., MTV.com reports.
The film bounced around from studio to studio before finally landing with Warner Bros. and gaining Heigl as leading lady.
She has appeared in romantic comedies "Knocked Up," "27 Dresses" and "The Ugly Truth," but this new project takes a dramatic turn. "Life as We Know It" follows two single adults whose mutual and married friends die in a car accident. They then become the caregivers for the couple's young daughter, and romance blossoms from there.
The film, scripted by Ian Deitchman and Kristin Rusk Robinson, will be directed by Greg Berlanti of Dawson's Creek fame, All Headline News reports.
According to E! Online, in addition to starring in "Life as We Know It," Heigl and her mother Nancy Heigl will executive produce the project. The two have a production company together.
