Rapper Tru Life and His Brother May Face Murder Charges

Rapper Tru Life could face serious prison time for his alleged role in a Manhattan stabbing incident.

Former Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam artist Tru Life, real name Roberto Guzman Rosado, Jr., surrendered to authorities on June 23 to stand on trial for a 1st degree murder charge, according to ThisIs50.com.

The charge may be connected to a stabbing that killed an eighteen-year-old teen and left one man in critical condition in the lobby of a Manhattan apartment building on the morning of June 21.

Police were at first looking for Tru Life's brother, who is also believed to be involved in the stabbing incident, which authorities think is in retaliation to the non-fatal shooting of Michael Slater, a drug dealer, during the early morning of June 21.

Police believe the violence escalated due to a feud between Jason Black, 30, the victim who survived his stabbed wounds, and Tru Life's brother.

If convicted, Tru Life and his brother could be sentenced to a maximum of life in prison under New York law.

He is infamous for a past rap feud with rapper Prodigy. His latest single to circulate is the Keri Hilson-featured "I Don't Need Love."
