Wonder Woman To Hit The Big Screen
Fans of the superhero movie genre will be happy to know that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" creator, Joss Whedon, is set to write and direct "Wonder Woman" for Warner Bros. Pictures. Wonder Woman is a popular DC Comics heroine who first saw small screen success in the 70s thanks to the TV series staring Lynda Carter that ran from 1976 to 1979. Whedon is excited to introduce a new generation to the comic book star who he describes as "very fascinating, very uncompromising and in her own way almost vulnerable." Whedon thinks that movie-goers will connect with Wonder Woman because "she's someone who doesn't belong in this world," making her easy for an audience who "feels the same way about themselves" to relate to her.
Whedon's writing credits include "Toy Story" and "Alien: Resurrection", as well the Marvel comic "Astonishing X-Men."
