Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo Call It Quits

After three years of dating, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have confirmed that they have split up.

Minnillo's rep told People, "They have amicably split but remain good friends who still greatly care for one another."

According to People, the pair's split followed many breakup rumors, but those rumors have always been said to be false. Earlier in the month, Minnillo said she and Lachey were "very much still on."

A source says that Minnillo and Lachey are still friends and that "it was the right thing for both of them to do."

Lachey, 35, was previously married to musician Jessica Simpson. The couple wed in October 2002 and appeared in a reality show together, called "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica," but the couple divorced in 2006. Lachey was a member of band 98 Degrees, and has since recorded a solo album, titled "What's Left of Me," which has sold over 500,000 copies.

Minnillo, 28, is former Miss Teen USA of 1998, and was named Miss Congeniality. Minnillo has also earned several spots on Maxim magazine's Hot 100 list.
