After 2007, the famous prisoners came back with another Michael Jackson tribute.
A jail in the Philippines choreographed a Michael Jackson tribute for the second time.
According to TMZ, prisoners at the Cebu Detention and Rehabilitation Center in the Philippines performed a tribute to the pop singer with his highly popular song, “Thriller.” They had already done the performance in 2007, which made them famous.
New York Daily News reports that the performance occurred on Saturday at the prison, which is located south of Manila. The original performance in 2007 has been viewed at least 24 million times so far on YouTube. The performance was dedicated to Jackson’s family.
Since their first performance, the prison has also posted other dances such as Van Halen’s “Jump,” Phil Oakey and Giorgio Moroder’s “Together in Electric Dreams” and Queen’s “Radio Ga Ga,” CNN reports. Dancing was introduced to the prisoners in 2007 as a means of rehabilitation. Upon hearing about Jackson’s death, supervisor of the prison Byron Garcia organized the free performance in the prison courtyard.
