Lisa Marie Presley: "He knew"

Ex-wife of Michael Jackson shares the late pop king's fear of drug related death.

After the shocking and ridiculously quickly publicized death of Michael Jackson, those who met the pop icon are speaking out on the disturbed side of the phenomenal talent.

The Los Angeles Times reports the daughter of another late iconic figure and also the ex-wife of Jackson, Lisa Marie Presley, personally posted a blog on her MySpace regarding a certain conversation she had with Michael. The subject was that of Presley's father, Elvis, and his sudden death in 1977.

Presley died at the age of 42 from what was first reported as an irregular heartbeat. Later, an autopsy revealed the apparent abuse of prescription drugs. Lisa Marie Presley wrote of that being Michael's fear. "At some point he paused," she said of the conversation between her and Michael, "he stared at me very intensely and he stated that with an almost calm certainty, 'I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did.'"

Michael and Lisa Marie Presley were married from May 1994 to January 1996.
