Funeral Service Scheduled for Fawcett
28-Jun-2009
Written by: Matthew Doyle

To be held this Tuesday

For three years, one of America’s greatest pinups and TV icons battled a debilitating disease. This past Thursday, Farrah Fawcett lost that battle, at the age of 62.

Fawcett became a star in the '70s as a co-star on the classic TV show, “Charlie’s Angels.” She also established herself as a worldwide sex symbol during the 1970s and '80s with her classic hairstyle and an infamous poster.

She was first diagnosed with anal cancer in September 2006. Four months later, she stated that she was cancer free. She passed away at an L.A. area hospital with Ryan O’Neal and close friend Alana Stewart both by her side at the time.

The service for Fawcett will be located at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, a Los Angeles church, the BBC reports. E! Online also reports that it will be a private service, to both the public and the media.
