Rapper Lil' Kim was convicted Thursday of conspiracy and perjury for lying to a federal grand jury about details that occurred at a shooting on February 25, 2001 outside of the radio station Hot 97. Kim, real name Kimberly Jones, lied about two of her friends who fired guns in what prosecutors described as a "Wild West shootout" in front of the New York radio station. Kim was acquitted of an obstruction of justice charge, which carries a 10-year prison term.
Monique Dopwell, Kim's co-defendant, was convicted of one count of conspiracy and two counts of perjury and was also acquitted of an obstruction of justice charge. Charges against Kim carry a maximum five year sentence each.
