Vazquez Hires Aiken's Lawyer
Former "Idol" contender hires lawyer of "Idol" star.
Former "American Idol" contender Mario Vazquez has hired lawyer Jess Rosen, the same lawyer that Clay Aiken used to free himself from his restrictive contract with 19 Entertainment. The "Idol" contract is considered among the most restrictive in the industry, controlling the recording deal, as well as touring, sponsorship, and merchandising. Vazquez hired Rosen on Sunday before quitting the show for "personal" reasons. He was among the favorites to win the "Idol" crown, shocking viewers with his sudden departure.
19 Entertainment is owned by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller. Aiken is now managed by The Firm, a leading management group.
