Critics Scared Michael Bay About the Success of Transformers
29-Jun-2009
Written by: Ashley Strawbridge

Michael Bay had second thoughts about sequel.

If one was a fan of the first “Transformers” movie, then he or she was anticipating the sequel, but director Michael Bay was not anticipating and was actually scared of everything that would come along with a new movie, particularly the critics.

“Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen” premiered in theaters a little after midnight, Wednesday, and since then, this movie has been nothing but a success. By success, I mean this movie has made an estimated $201.2 million. So some may ask why Bay would have these feelings.

According to the L.A. Times, Bay has never been well respected by critics and to date, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” was the movie in his seven-movie career that has gotten the worse reviews ever. Some of the reviews were so bad that Bay even voiced his fears to some of the executives.

“Transformers” grabbed many people the first time and had them sitting on the edge of their seats for the second one and, according to many fans, “Revenge of the Fallen” was well worth the wait.
