Guy Pearce, Katie Holmes to star in “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.”
If Guillermo Del Toro has his way, Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce will have to get adjusted to things that go bump in the night--for his next film, that is.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the director of "Pan's Labyrinth" is in talks with Pearce's representatives at talent agency CAA to have him featured in the movie.
The script is based on a 1973 movie of the week, about a girl who moves in with her father and his live-in girlfriend and suddenly experiences demonic visions. The film starred Kim Darby of "True Grit" fame.
Pearce will play the father, while Holmes is set to play the girlfriend. A young upstart, Bailee Madison, is set to play the girl.
Since her breakout role in "Bridge to Terabithia," Madison has risen in the community of child actors, having scored a role opposite Natalie Portman in Jim Sheridan's "Brothers" and Hilary Swank in "Betty Anne Waters," both soon to be released films.
It's been a long road for Madison, who got her start at the ripe young age of two weeks old acting in an Office Depot commercial.
She is represented by Coast to Coast Talent.
