Apatow Crew and Others Now Deemed Oscar Audience Elite

Many worthy new actors, actresses, and crew members receive Oscar invites
Every year, more and more worthy Hollywood figures gain an invitation to join the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Judd Apatow, a central figure of comedy in the first decade of the 21st century, received his invitation and Oscar voting priveledges last year. This year, many of Apatow’s most treasured collaborators will be extended the same courtesies.
Among these new Oscar voters will be Seth Rogen, Michael Cera, James Franco and Paul Rudd. These actors have colored in Apatow’s films and helped distinguish them as comedies with heart and soul. These invitations seem long overdue, particularly for Seth Rogen, who has had starring roles in myany of Apatow’s films and has established himself as a leading comedy actor this decade.
Also among the new Oscar elite are actors Casey Affleck, James Franco and Anne Hathaway, as well as directors Danny Boyle and Tyler Perry.
