A New Face on 'Gossip Girl'

Hilary Duff is to be in a number of episodes of "Gossip Girl", playing a young movie star enrolled at NYU looking for a roommate. That shouldn't be such a difficult task for Miss Duff, as she has had some experience in that occupation. Her roommate will become Vanessa, played by Jessica Szohr.

Duff's character will be name Olivia Burke and will join the cluster of "Gossip Girl" stars this fall. She will be introduced in the fourth episode, set to air October 5.

This follows after producers of "Gossip Girl" learned of NBC's turndown on Hilary's comedy pilot, "Barely Legal", according to Entertainment Weekly.
