Carradine Proves that Sex Can Be Deadly
New details regarding the astonishing, yet still suspicious death of "Kill Bill" actor David Carradine have recently been released.
Carradine's naked body was discovered on June 4, hanging in the closet of his hotel room in Bangkok with ropes tied around his neck, wrists and genitals. Early reports fueled the obvious conjecture that the actor had been involved in some sort of bizarre and dangerous sex practice that led to auto-erotic asphyxiation.
An initial autopsy was performed in Thailand on June 8; however, Carradine's family requested that a second private autopsy be performed after being told that it could take up to a month to determine his final cause of death.
They hired a New York-based forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden in hopes of revealing more details surrounding Carradine's death.
Based on the ligatures around the body, Baden was able to rule out both natural and suicidal causes. He confirmed on Thursday that Carradine's death was due to the inability to breathe, termed asphyxiation.
While homicide is still a possibility, Reuters reported that Baden has requested the pass key information as well as the security video from the Thai hotel in order to prove that no one else was in his room when he died.
According to court documents, Carradine's ex-wife, Marina Anderson, said the actor was known to practice "deviant intimate behavior which was potentially deadly."
Carradine's family has suggested that he was involved in Thailand's martial arts underground.
