Did Elisabeth Hasselbeck Plagiarize?
2-Jul-2009
Written by: Sarah Folmar

The television co-host is accused of plagiarizing from another book.

We have all watched Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the sweet but fiery conservative co-host of “The View,” give her opinion on what she declares to be the right thing for years. Now, the somewhat of a “do-gooder” could be in trouble for plagiarism.

According to CBS News, a lawsuit has been filed against the television star accusing her of lifting words from a book for her new publication. The lawsuit was filed in Massachusetts by an author who published an earlier book on celiac disease.

Hasselbeck’s best-selling book, “The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide,” has recently increased in circulation over the past month, and has helped many people living with the disease.

Susan Hassett, the woman filing against Hasselbeck, said she sent a copy of her book to the star last year when she publicly announced that she was diagnosed with the disorder.

There is no word from Hasselbeck yet on the issue, but we should get the whole story when she feels like bringing it up on her show.
