Autopsy Shows Mays Had Heart Disease
An autopsy performed after Billy Mays's sudden death in his Florida home indicated that he probably died from heart disease.
According to the medical examiner Mays "had an enlarged heart, a thickening of the wall of the ventricle which takes blood to the heart." These symptoms are connected with heart disease.
Hypertensive and arteriosclerotic disease of the heart can sometimes cause sudden death, reports In Entertainment.
Mays apparently died of a pulmonary embolism, which occurs when and artery in the lung becomes blocked, usually by a blood that forms in another part of the body.
Despite Mays's reported bump on the head during a rough plane landing on Saturday, the examiner said that there were "no signs of internal or external head trauma," Examiner.com reports.
There was speculation that the blow to the head could have caused internal bleeding, but that seems to have not been the case.
The official autopsy test results won't be ready for several weeks.
