Quincy Jones Reminisces About Michael
3-Jul-2009
Written by: Lindsey Weedston

The relationship between producer and artist was one of “tremendous trust.“

Michael Jackson’s music producer Quincy Jones recently shared his memories and feelings about the pop sensation with the press.

The Associated Press writes that Jones is having a hard time processing Jackson’s death, calling the whole series of events “surreal.” He said that he couldn’t believe that Jackson died before him, and that losing the pop star was like “losing part of his own soul.”

Jones also gave his opinion regarding Jackson’s changing appearance. According to the Boston Herald, the producer did not believe that Jackson’s fading skin tone was from a disease, but was intentional. Jones then pointed out the King of Pop’s children and said that “he obviously didn’t want to be black.”

Despite his opinions about Jackson’s skin color, there’s no doubt that Jones is deeply affected by his friend’s sudden death. While at Club W in London on Saturday, Jones became emotional when they started playing Michael Jackson music, reports People Magazine. An observer said that “his eyes welled up, he had his head in his hands.” The producer then went to an empty dressing room to collect his thoughts.
