Jackson Fans Can Try Scoring Tickets for Memorial
3-Jul-2009
Written by: Kimberly Morgan

Staple Center’s website is giving away tickets to the singer’s memorial.

If you want to attend Michael Jackson’s memorial at the Staples Center, no purchase is necessary…but luck is.

According to People, the venue is giving away 17,500 tickets on their website. All you have to do is register on their website, then log on and enter for your chance to score one. 6,500 of those tickets will be for the memorial’s other venue, Nokia Theatre L.A.

ABC News reports that the website will give away 11,000 tickets for the Staples Center, which holds 20,000 people. It is not clear what will happen to the remaining 9,000 seats. Plans for the memorial were announced a little more than a week after Jackson’s death.

The Internet draw will give the tickets away for free and is only for U.S. residents, BBC News reports. Fans who do not receive tickets are advised to stay at home in order to maintain crowd control at the Staples Center.
