Christian Slater may be gracing television screens soon as he is in negotiations with ABC to play the lead character in the network’s new sleuth drama called “Forgotten.”
Slater may be a ‘Forgotten’ man
Christian Slater is in talks with ABC to star in a new spy drama entitled “Forgotten.”
According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, “’Forgotten,’ from WBTV and producer Jerry Bruckheimer, is a mystery drama revolving around a group of amateur detectives led by a former cop (Slater) whose 11-year-old daughter was kidnapped three years before.’”
Slater will replace Rupert Penry-Jones, a British actor who played the role in the series’ pilot. Another female role, another member of Slater’s detective team, is also being recast. The project is recasting after it was picked up to series in May. It is scheduled to air on ABC at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays.
The Hollywood Reporter.com also mentions when the show will be premiering, “’Forgotten,’ set to launch Sept. 22, would mark Slater's second turn as a TV leading man after last year's short-lived NBC spy drama ‘My Own Worst Enemy,’ for which he garnered good reviews.’”
Viewers may be more accustomed to seeing Slater on the silver screen as he has starred in several notable films such as the 1988 cult classic “Heathers,” which also starred a young Winona Ryder, the 1991 Kevin Costner/Morgan Freeman adventure “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,” the 1993 romantic drama “Untamed Heart,” which also featured a post-Oscar winning Marisa Tomei and the 1996 John Travolta action adventure flick “Broken Arrow.”
