Mase’s Rap Comeback Inspiration, Ends Beef with Jim Jones
4-Jul-2009
Written by: Wiley Taylor, Jr.

Mase talks about his comeback and squashes beef with Jim Jones.

Through the death of the late Michael Jackson, Mase has decided to come back to hip-hop.

In a recent phone interview with DJ Self of New York’s Power 105 FM on the day Jackson died, he said that he was excited to make a comeback and that Jackson’s death sparked a flame that made him want to go back into the studio. Although he plans on coming back, Mase has no knowledge of the contemporary hip-hop today and who the current top artists are in hip-hop industry.

“I asked my lil' nephew and said, ‘Who is the hottest thing out there?’” said Mase. “He said ‘Drake, Drake.’ I said I gotta see what record he got and I said I'm going to jump on a joint.”

Mase has recently completed a remake of Drake’s mixtape single, “Best I Ever Had.” To listen to it watch below

Mase also went on to announce that he wanted to end the beef with Jim Jones, when asked on his feelings towards Jim Jones and Cam’ron with whom he had tensions starting back in the '90s.

“I just love both of them. I know we had a lot of bad altercations and stuff like that. I got love for the family, man,” said Mase. “At the end of the day, my kids are supposed to know their kids. Their kids are supposed to know mine.”

A few minutes later, Jim Jones called the radio and apologized for the past altercations that usually were very public.

“I just wanted to tell you I tip my hat to you. I apologize to you for anything I ever done when I was younger,” Jim Jones said joyfully. “I'm good like a fresh pair of [Air force] 1's,” Mase concluded.
