NBC sets date for terrorist documentary
4-Jul-2009
Written by: Sari N. Kent

An hour-long docu-series that chronicles the search for international terrorists, entitled “The Wanted,” will air on NBC News on two consecutive Monday evenings in July.

This month, NBC News will air its hour-long docu-series, entitled “The Wanted,” which follows the hunt for international terrorists.

According to an article on Variety.com, “Show will center on an elite team with intelligence, unconventional warfare and investigative journalism backgrounds as they hunt suspects such as Mullah Krekar, the founder of terrorist organization Ansar Al Islam.”

“The Wanted” will air at 10 p.m. on two consecutive Mondays, July 20 and July 27, with the possibility of more episodes to come.

Krekar is the focal point of the July 20 episode, while on the July 27 episode, “Bin Laden’s financier,” Mamoun Darkazanli, will be chased by the group.

The Variety.com article then describes the members of the terrorist hunting squad, “The terrorist trackers include counter-terrorism expert Roger Carstens; former Navy Seal Scott Tyler, former U.S. intelligence official David Crane, and Emmy-winning journo Adam Ciralsky.”

Ciralsky will be the show’s executive producer along with Charlie Ebersol.

“We hope this program sheds light on an overlooked story,” said NBC News exec producer David Corvo. “It is surprising how many people with serious accusations against them are living openly and avoiding any sort of judicial process.”

Meanwhile, it is Crane’s sincere ambition that the series will begin a countrywide dialogue about war crimes, sins against humankind, genocide as well as the ongoing threat of international terrorism.
