Jackson Speaks Out

Jackson speaks openly on radio show.

During a radio interview with civil rights activist, Jesse Jackson, Michael Jackson said he looks to the story of Nelson Mandela for strength through his troubles. He also stated: "It's very painful, but this has kind of been a pattern among black luminaries in this country." Michael was speaking of the stories of great African Americans including boxers Muhammad Ali and Jack Johnson and the Reverend Jackson himself, all of whom Jackson sited as a source of strength. Michael also said of his innocence: "I know in my heart and in my experiences in life that I am totally innocent."

Michael is charged with molesting 13 year old cancer patient Gavin Arvizo, giving him alcohol and holding him and his family against their will.
