Bonnaroo not NIN's last U.S. performance ever, after all

NIN won't start hiatus when expected, will play more U.S. dates starting in August.

Trent Reznor announced Tuesday via NIN.com that Nine Inch Nails will play additional U.S. tour dates in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago starting Aug. 22.

Reznor had previously deemed the June 14 Bonnaroo performance as the last U.S. show after the announcement of a band hiatus that would allow him to work on other projects. The festival gig wrapped up a U.S. tour with Jane's Addiction and Street Sweeper Social Club, featuring Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave.

The front man explained his reasoning for additional tour dates in a news post on NIN.com: "Upon reflection, the NIN/JA tour felt like we had to rush through sets due to a limited allotted set length and many shows were in daylight - it just didn't feel right to end NIN that way."

Venues are to include Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall and Terminal 5 in New York, the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, and The Wiltern, Henry Fonda, Hollywood Palladium and The Echoplex in Los Angeles.

According to the announcement, The Horrors will join NIN for some New York dates and Mew will do the same from some shows in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Reznor says "perhaps more."

Reznor said ticket information and more details will be announced at NIN.com soon.
