Jackman and Craig Team Up to Take on Broadway
Australian actor Hugh Jackman and British actor Daniel Craig have been big in the news lately, with their smash-hit roles as Wolverine and James Bond, respectively. Now the two heartthrobs will be teaming up for a Broadway production of Keith Huff's play "A Steady Rain," reports The New York Times.
According to BBC News, Jackman has appeared on Broadway before, in "The Boy from Oz" in 2004, which earned him a Tony for Best Actor. Craig has performed onstage in London, but this will be his Broadway debut.
"A Steady Rain" is the tale of two Chicago policemen, which Scott Mallalieu, president of Group Sales Box Office, told Bloomberg he believed would attract male audiences, while the two male leads' heartthrob status ensures the attention of female audiences.
The New York Times reports that previews of the production will begin Sept. 10 of this year at the Schoenfeld Theatre and will premiere on Broadway Sept. 29 for a 12 week run.
