Ryan Reynolds Wins Role over Timberlake
Ryan Reynolds has been cast in "The Green Latern."
Move over Justin Timberlake. It has now been confirmed by Variety that Ryan Reynolds will play in the Green Lantern, a new comic book adaptation. Reynolds, 32, just starred with Sandra Bullock in "The Proposal," which was popular at the box office. Reynolds also recently played the character, Deadpool, in the movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."
Reynolds was up against Bradley Cooper and Justin Timberlake for the role in "The Green Lantern." As long as everything goes as planned, the new movie deal will make Reynolds the only male actor to have played heroes for comic rivals Marvel and DC, reports the BBC News.
According to Variety, the film is being directed by Martin Campbell, who was at the helm of 2006's "Casino Royale."
