New TV Ad to Feature Billy Mays

Deceased TV pitchman Billy Mays's new ad hits the airwaves.

We all know Billy Mays, the loud, bearded TV pitchman who has hawked products like Orange Glo and Oxiclean in often-played ads. We also now know him for his untimely death at the age of 50 just days after Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson's deaths.

But it seems the consummate pitchman is back on TV after his ads were yanked from the air following his passing. Two new commercials, one for Mighty Tape and another for a product called the Mighty Putty Super Pack, will air later this month.

While many wonder if it is too soon for Mays to reappear, his attorney, Roger Pliakas, says, "Billy didn't shoot the commercials for them not to air," according to the L.A. Times. These feelings are echoed by Bill McAlister, president of Media Enterprises, "Our feeling is, everyone wants to have Billy go on," Entertainment Weekly reported.

Surprisingly, sales in Billy Mays's products have increased 25 percent since his heart-disease related death; although whether this is caused by Mays's death or not is unclear.
