Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson are splitsville

With already one marriage in the can, Jessica Simpson seemed to have more luck in love with slightly less exposed football star Tony Romo, but the two stars have called it quits, according to Newsday.com. Simpson had been planning a birthday celebration for herself and Romo before an argument ensued and had Romo stalking away. Simpson later reported to fans on her Twitter page that "everyone knows that hope floats," in regards to the split and her apparent optimism about the severed relationship.

The San Francisco Examiner printed that Simpson's representative says she's "heartbroken" over the breakup but that the demise was probably a result of both celebrities' busy schedules—particularly Simpson's starting work on her new reality show, "The Price of Beauty." The Examiner joked that Dallas Cowboy fans are probably happy about the split—in the past it had been reported that Simpson was distracting Romo from his game.
