Michael Jackson's Fans Gather in London's Arena to Pay Respects

Michael Jackson fans celebrated his life at the O2 Arena, Monday.

Hundreds of Michael Jackson fans gathered around the O2 Arena on Monday to pay their respects to the King of Pop, who was supposed to kick off his "This Is It" tour that day, Reuters reported.

Jackson died a few weeks just before his long awaited comeback tour.

"This was going to be the best summer of my life," said a fan of Jackson. "I was going to go to five shows altogether, it would have been fantastic. I can't believe rather than coming here to see him perform I'm here to mourn. . . . It's devastating, it really is."

A total 750,000 tickets were sold out in record time to the London concerts. Even though there wasn't a performance last night, hundreds of fans turned up at the arena to celebrate Jackson's life.

"We've come here today even if there's no gig tonight. We're making our own gig, our own carnival atmosphere, we're making this what it would have been if Michael had been here," said another MJ fan.

AEG Live, the promoters of the "This Is It" tour, offered fans a complete refund or a commemorative ticket.

According to Reuters, AEG hopes to stage a tribute to Jackson and include a few elements from the "This Is It" concert. It has been reported that organizers are planning to have the tribute in late August.
