Arquette and Cox to Revive the Scream Franchise
14-Jul-2009
Written by: Lindsey Weedston
“Scream 4” is currently in the works.
David Arquette recently let slip that he and his wife, Courteney Cox, will be starring in “Scream 4.” The pair met while working on the first “Scream” movie, writes the L.A. Times, which is where Arquette says he fell in love with Cox. He’s excited to bring the old characters back, commenting, “It’s just going to be really fun.”
According to E! Online, Kevin Williamson is currently writing the script, and they are looking to Wes Craven to direct. Arquette refused to share any detail about the new movie’s story line.
Unfortunately, a Twitter post by Williamson suggested that Neve Campbell has already declined to appear in “Scream 4,” reports New York Daily News. The actual tweet said, “Trying to figure out a Sid-less scenario. She won’t do it. This sucks.” That tweet was removed, however, shortly after it was posted.
Rumors about a fourth “Scream” movie have been circulating for years, so we’ll see if this one actually comes together.
