Debbie Rowe’s Attorney Denies Reports
15-Jul-2009
Written by: Megan Dziklinski

Attorney fights against reports of Michael Jackson’s ex-wife abandoning parental rights.

Debbie Rowe’s attorney denied reports that Michael Jackson’s ex-wife gave up parental rights of her and the King of Pop’s two children in exchange for millions of dollars, says Reuters.

According to a letter addressed to the New York Post, Rowe’s attorney, Eric George, claims that Jackson’s ex-wife “has not and will not” abandon her parental rights.

George’s letter also states that Rowe will not receive any money beyond the spousal support that she and Jackson agreed upon previously.

Reports of Rowe agreeing to accept $4 million to give up parental rights to her children, Prince Michael, 12, and Paris Michael Katherine, 11, were claimed by the New York Post.

Rowe was married to Michael Jackson from 1996 to 1999 and is mother of his two oldest children.

In 2001, Rowe sought to forsake parental rights of her two children; however, later returned to the court to fight the initial abandonment of her rights.

A will signed by Michael Jackson in 2002 omitted Rowe from his last wishes.
