Travel Channel Sell-Off
In recent years, the Travel Channel has made its programming more desirable by finding more exotic locations and even getting Playboy's Bridget Marquardt to host a new show. Now, according to Reuters, the channel is going to be sold at an auction to a new company.
The main media networks interested in the purchase include Scripps Network and Time Warner. The anticipated amount Travel Channel could sell for is between $600 million and $1 billion.
Some analysts believe CBS Corp and NBC Universal could also be interested in the sale.
Those involved with the sale are keeping quiet until more details are available on the matter. Prospective buyers will get more information throughout the week to help with their decision.
Cable networks have been doing well with the recent economy, so a high interest in purchasing the Travel Channel is expected.
